Digital voltmeters, also called multimeters, are tools that measures useful and very accurate (+ 1% to – 1%) readings from electrical circuits. Multiple readings can be measured including currents, resistance, frequencies and voltages (thus multimeter alternate name).

Isolated Digital VoltmeterRavica’s digital voltmeter is a tool intended to be implemented into an environmental/ security monitoring system. Customers have added pressure transducers, solar power monitors, battery monitors, and have integrated the SensorProbe into laboratory test equipment. Solutions for plant nurseries, hospitals, and many other applications are possible where monitoring is essential. You need to also keep in mind that normally these third party sensors require a separate DC voltage power supply.

The digital voltmeter that we offer has an isolation feature allows for the measurement at any point in a system with the possibility of sorting out problems such as the measurement of battery voltages in a string of batteries. The digital voltmeter measures the difference of voltage between two points along the electrical circuit. Our  digital voltmeter has a customizable instrument that measures between -60 to 0 volts or 0 to 60 volts.

You can integrate these third party sensors into the sensorProbe base units with either the digital voltmeter which just measures the amount of DC voltage present, or our 4-20mA sensor. What both sensors do is allow you to connect either the DC voltage output or the 4-20mA output signal from the third party sensors into either sensors input.

This DC voltage or 4-20mA signal is then converted to our code and is connected to the RJ-45 sensor ports so the sensorProbe or secuirtyProbe base unit can read it and display the values in the web interface. The unit of measurement can be renamed to provide a translation of the measurement. For example, if a pressure transducer is integrated, the unit of measurement can be written to use grams or lbs.

The digital voltmeter is SMNP enabled to set traps when the status changes from normal to alarm status. Web interface is available for all of our sensors including the digital voltmeter to provide conditions of the sensor. When an alarm condition is activated, the description and location of the fault can be sent via email or page.
