With our SNMP enabled intelligent security monitoring and environmental monitoring devices, managers can reduced the amount of time spent polling devices for conditions. SNMP traps can be set on the environmental monitoring and security monitoring devices to notify administrators of critical conditions. This feature however, is only available on the SecurityProbe line of base units.
Our intelligent environmental monitoring and security monitoring systems have many options to produce notification actions including SMS (short message service), telephone calls, MMS (multimedia message service), siren alarms, emails. The securityProbes have an audio system that allows it to make voice alerts via telephone calls.
However, you can also set up a Skype account for the SecurityProbe. Now, rather than waiting for an email alert, you can Skype call your base unit. This is a cheap alternative to purchasing additional hardware as an auto-dialer.
Another cool alternative to environmental or security alert actions is to use Twitter for notifications. Set up a Twitter account for your securityProbe and use TwitterMail as an email address. Anytime the probe is triggered to send an alert, it will send a Tweet! Make sure there are multiple administrators that “follow” the secruityProbe tweet so that multiple people can address the problem all at once! Twitter will even allow members to get text alerts anytime there is a Tweet.
Whether a water leak occurs in the data center, or a fire occurs at home when you’re on vacation, you need to be reached as easily as possible. Multiple administrators can be notified with securityProbe in many different ways to get the alert across. Our program uses security Notification Wizard which allows alternative notification actions which can set levels at which to trigger a notification protocol.
