I love it when customers call us up at Ravica to inquire about using our environmental monitoring solution in unusual ways that we don’t even advertise. Typically, we market both our environmental monitoring equipment and security systems for server rooms, data centers, computer rooms; really just electrical equipment. Sometimes we sell our security monitoring equipment for homes, warehouses and the like.
In the past however, we have set up a security system to a grain farm who retaliated a theft with the entire security package including our motion detectors, siren & strobe lights, surveillance cameras and security sensors. We’ve also sold temperature monitors for a woman who wanted to monitor the temperature outside for a dog kennel. Another customer who was a cigar aficionado set up our temperature and humidity sensors on relays to monitor his walk-in humidor.

The other day, a customer asked us for something unusual. He was interested in buying our water leak sensors to monitor for water leaks in his underground water line. Unfortunately, there are a few mechanical problems in this situation that wouldn’t be possible for any water leak sensor, however, the idea of using our environmental monitoring system in such a way isn’t far-fetched.
